The Loser's Club

Dschungel Wien und Theatre Laboratory Open Circle

Wien/AT & Vilnius/LT

Eight teenagers – four boys and four girls – give an insight into their world between punk and rap. They create a kaleidoscope of different characters, styles and snapshots, as each of them has different expectations, longings and fears. On the other hand, all of them share the primeval need for love, friendship and luck. They also have the same passion for music and the same age. The age at which one is no longer a child, but not an adult yet. At which one feels a little lost, at which one wants to be a rebel, at which one doesn’t understand everything all the time, at which one wants to be part of a group and at which one wants to be heard. The age at which one doesn’t want to be called a teenager, but rather by one’s name.

The Theatre Laboratoy OPEN CIRCLE was founded in 2006 by a group of students from the Lithuanian Acadamy of Theatre and Music. After they had collaborated for four years to create their own approach to theatre, this was an important step for the development of theatre for a young audience in Lithuania. Recently, their work has met with great enthusiasm from viewers at many international festivals. “The Loser’s Club” is the group’s first collaboration with Stephan Rabl and Dschungel Wien.

„‚The Losers‘ Club" erzählt mit viel Live-Musik und lebhaftem Schauspiel von ihrem Ringen um Anerkennung, Respekt und Individualität.“
