What do dancers’ bodies sound like? How do drummers dance?
Two drummers and two dancers combine rhythm, movement and space in a spectacular show, in which they blur the boundaries between dance and music. The swift choreography turns movement into sound and music into dance. Everything might become an instrument and everybody might become a dancer. The audience is drawn into a fascinating world – gentle and silent at times, then again wild and loud. Contemporary dance has rarely been that amusing, and rarely people laugh as hard!
Compagnie Arcosm started in 2001 in Lyon/France. The company's main objective is to build bridges and passageways between different artistic disciplines and languages. At the heart of this artistic approach lie multiple combinations of music, dance, the human voice, rhythm, melody, timbre and texture: all intimately linked to the musical scope and providing color, shape and theatricality to the performers.
„Ganz leise Passagen wechseln mit lautstarken
ab. Mal im grellen Rampenlicht, mal
im Schatten – Stimmungen, transportierte
Gefühle wechseln ebenso wie Tempo. Und
stets durchzieht Humor die Bewegungen und
Klang-Inszenierungen.“ [Kurier, 2011]
