Jungwild 2012

Award for upcoming young artists

What is it that young people should see on stage in the future? What topics, what forms and what aesthetics are currently relevant and exciting for a young audience and therefore need to be brought to stage? These are the questions that young theatre people from all over Austria ask themselves. At the Jungwild competition, they show an overview on current trends and tendencies.
This year, Jungwild, the award for upcoming young artists, is offered for the fourth time. Participants will get the chance to win € 16,000, which are made available by the Austrian theatre festivals Szene Bunte Wähne, Schäxpir and spleen*graz as well as the theatres Dschungel Wien and TaO!.
Ten teams from all fields of performing arts have been preselected for the competition by a jury. They will present scenic sketches that give an insight into the content and aesthetics of their work as well as into their working methods. An international jury will choose the three most promising pieces, which will then be finished by autumn 2012.
